Yeah, John Hurt isn't exactly the first big name they've had on the show - between the likes of John Cleese, Derek Jacobi, Timothy Dalton, Carey Mulligan, Ian McKellen, etc there's hardly a single actor you can't link to Doctor Who pretty easily.
Still, now we've had Claudius play (a pitiable version of) The Master and Caligula play (a dark version of) The Doctor. There's a nice symmetry to that.
ETA: Oh, and Sigourney Weaver already had a 1; she was in Paul with Simon Pegg.
