Another Doctor Who thought

Anyone else reminded of Dirk Gently's Professor Chronotis? A lot of similarities, not entirely surprising since Adams based the character on his earlier Doctor Who scripts?

Chronotis was originally a character in the unscreened story Shada before he was reused (crossed dimensions) in Dirk Gently.
