This is a one-week offer of This is Free Trader Beowulf by Shannon Appelcline, a history of the Traveller RPG, to celebrate the game's 47th anniversary. There will be a lot more Traveller offers, repeats of earlier bundles, this week. And no, I have no idea why this isn't waiting until the 50th anniversary...

I've taken a look at this and it seems to be exactly what it says on the tin - a big (398 pages) history of all of the different versions of Traveller. It doesn't have a comprehensive index, which is a bit of a shame, but the organization is clear enough that there should be no trouble finding things. My name only appears once, but that's because I never actually wrote any modules etc. for the game, and the coverage of magazine articles is a bit more hit and miss. It's an interesting read for Traveller fans, not very expensive, and if you like the system and setting it's well worth a look.
