I liked the way a certain crucial image changed completely between the first and second times we saw it. I can't decide whether this was to preserve the shock value of the second version, to avoid giving away a key element of what one might loosely call the plot (in which cases it might have been better not to use the image at all) or because they just couldn't be bothered with continuity at all...
I think it's the best of the series so far; and so far the series has ranged from pretty darn good to not-sure-if-very-clever-or-actually-stupid but nothing approaching "poor" or "meh", so consider me very entertained tonight.
The only thing that jarred even for the fairytales we're currently getting for the show was the rocket launch and how nobody was even remotely singed.
I'm afraid I had to have the Thomas Thomas joke explained to me.
And, having just seen the episode of the Murdoch Mysteries where Murdoch and Nikola Tesla battle an evil female villain with a microwave deathray, I realise we need Murdoch/Vastra crossovers.
Canadian series about a police detective in 1890s Toronto. He uses early CSI-type techniques which were possibly just about possible at the time (including what he calls "fingermarks").
Various real-life characters have turned up such as Tesla, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, H.G. Wells, and Houdini. Also, some of the episodes have a steampunk feel to them such as this microwave deathray, and an airship disguised as a Martian invasion and a giant robot.
Runs on the alibi channel over here and season 6 has just ended. Only started watching it myself just before Easter and the alibi channel has been doing a catch-up repeat from season 1 at three in the morning. Now got to the end of season 3.
