Meme-Free Zone

Apparently there was an attempt at a new Saint TV series in 2012-13, with Buffy's Eliza Dushku (Faith) playing Patricia Holm, Simon Templar's girlfriend. Ignoring the fact that Patricia was British and a tall blonde it seems weird that this never got much publicity - anyone know more about it? Or seen it? Apparently it was shown on American TV on 1 July 2013 and sank without a trace.

It was announced in December 2012 that a third attempt would be made to produce a pilot for a potential TV series. This time, English actor Adam Rayner was cast as Simon Templar and American actress Eliza Dushku as Patricia Holm (a character from the novels never before portrayed on television and only once in the films), with Roger Moore producing.[12] Unlike the prior attempts, production of the Rayner pilot did commence in December 2012 and continued into early 2013, with Moore and Ogilvy making cameo appearances, according to a cast list posted on the official Leslie Charteris website[13] and subsequently confirmed in the trailer that was released. The pilot did not sell; Chris Lunt, creator of the ITV miniseries Prey, announced on BBC Radio Five Live in late April 2014 that he is writing a new pilot for the character.[14]

I'm trying to identify one of Leslie Charteris' Saint stories in which Templar murders an abusive husband (I think in Italy) by poisoning him with the vapour from carbon tetrachloride dry cleaning fluid in a small sealed room - the murder method is suggested by a London doctor who says it's the perfect crime, but if anyone turns up killed that way he will have to report it to the police, unaware that Templar doesn't intend to use the method anywhere that he will hear about it.

I've been working hard on my RPG stuff and haven't quite been in the mood to complete any of the ongoing stories when I wasn't, but here's a holiday fic which I'm hoping to post to archives on New Years Eve. Comments before that would be greatly appreciated, it's a fairly low-key Saint / BtVS crossover.
